Recently, I was chatting with Elizabeth and Bonnie on the podcast Make Joy Normal about keeping it simple. Today on the blog, I’m sharing with you the three tips I shared with them for getting started with simplifying your home life, especially if you don’t know where to start:

1. Start somewhere. Start anywhere. There are so many methods or places to start, but really just starting is the best thing to do. Maybe it’s a drawer in your kitchen, or taking things off your to do list. Maybe it’s a massive declutter of your home. Starting can be the biggest battle!

2. Look towards your values and priorities. Once you have your values and priorities established, everything will flow fm there from the stuff in your home, to the routines you make as a family. Not sure where to start looking at yours? My blogs on finding your values may help.

3. Find support and community. It’s hard to do anything alone. We are meant for community. Books, instagram communities, Facebook groups, in person friends who are simplifying their home life will inspire and encourage you on your journey. Learning from one another is such a great gift.

Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m a mother of four children - three boys, one toddler girl - and our family lives on the beautiful east coast of Canada. I’m a past elementary teacher, turned stay at home, work at home mom eight years ago after I had my second child. I’ve found that the busier I’ve become and as my children age, that it’s become even more important to figure out what is most important to me and us as a family. Living a simpler lifestyle has helped us in so many ways in our home life - from better routines to faster tidying up times. It has been through my children that I have been inspired to learn how to effectively manage my time and to simplify in all areas of my home and life. I enjoy helping busy moms simplify home life by teaching flexible planning methods and skills. Enjoyed this blog and think it would be helpful to others? I'd love if you shared it. Thank you!
